This course provides a comprehensive framework for designing and evaluating effective training programmes aligned with organisational objectives. It begins with understanding business needs and aligning training strategies, emphasising the importance of connecting Learning & Development (L&D) initiatives to key business goals. This involves identifying the role of training in organisational success, aligning L&D strategies with broader objectives, and engaging key stakeholders in the development process.
A significant focus is placed on identifying skill gaps and conducting thorough needs assessments using various methods such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, and performance data. Job task analysis is highlighted as a tool to set training priorities, and the differentiation between individual, team, and organisational learning needs ensures that programmes are tailored for maximum impact. These steps lay the groundwork for building relevant and targeted training interventions.
The curriculum development process incorporates writing SMART learning objectives, linking them to organisational goals, and mapping curriculum pathways from foundational to advanced levels. Competency models and job role analysis are explored to ensure training addresses specific workforce requirements, while real-world case studies and practical activities, such as conducting mini-Training Needs Analyses (TNA) and drafting curriculum outlines, provide hands-on experience and reinforce the theoretical concepts discussed.
