From foundational models such as ADDIE and SAM—each with unique strengths and approaches—to modern content development, delivery strategies, and engagement techniques, Instructional Design blends science, creativity, and technology to build structured environments where learners can confidently acquire and apply new skills. This field is not just about tools or methods; it is a mindset dedicated to making learning purposeful and impactful for every individual.

- Topic 1 – Introduction to Instructional DesignInstructional Design (ID) is often described as the “architectural blueprint” of education. It is the systematic process of translating principles of learning and instruction into plans for instructional materials, activities, information resources, and evaluation.3

- Topic 3 – Content Development StrategiesStructuring modules is the bridge between “what needs to be learned” and “how it is experienced.” A common mistake in Instructional Design is using the same structure for a classroom as you do for an e-learning module. To be effective, the structure must respect the medium’s constraints and the learner’s environment.4
- Topic 4 – Engagement TechniquesIn the world of Instructional Design, facts and data are the “skeleton” of a course, but storytelling is the “blood” that brings it to life. Neurobiologically, stories trigger the release of oxytocin, which builds trust, and dopamine, which aids memory. When we hear a story, our brains react as if we are actually experiencing the events. This makes storytelling one of the most powerful tools for retention and behaviour change.5
